Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger

       Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger, Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger, a Partner of E&Y Germany, has been Global Head of International Public Sector Accounting within E&Y since 2009.

       Thomas has 25 years of international experience in auditing and consulting governments, public and municipal corporations, non-profit organizations (clubs, associations and foundations), and industrial enterprises operating globally and nationally. Since 2003, he has been a member of the European Public Sector Accounting Group and has been President since 2011. He has also been a member of the German Public Sector Committee at IDW since 2002. Member of IFAC IPSAS Board of Directors from January 2009 to December 2014. From January 2016, Thomas began serving as the first President of the Advisory Group (CAG) at IPSASB. He is the first IPSASB CAG President to be elected since June 2017.

       Mr. Müller-Marqués Berger has published extensively on Public Sector Accounting and has given presentations, speeches and trainings on International Public Sector Accounting in many countries around the world.

Dr. Irum Saba

       Dr. Irum Saba, Assistant Professor, Department of Finance, Institute of Business Administration-Karachi, Pakistan

       Dr. Saba has more than 15 years of progressive regulatory, research, training and teaching experience with organizations of international repute. Currently, she is on deputation from State Bank of Pakistan (central bank) to IBA-Karachi. She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Program Director of MS Islamic Banking and Finance at IBA-Karachi Pakistan.

       She has the honour to be first Pakistani female to be part of International Shari’ah Advisory Board in South East Asia and Middle East. She delivers trainings both at local and international levels in addition to teaching, research and administrative work. She has written several articles and chapters in books on the topics of Management, corporate governance, Islamic finance and Islamic microfinance.

       She has extensive regulatory experience with specific focus to promote Islamic banking and Finance while working in the Islamic Banking Department of SBP. She has also contributed to the promotion and growth of Takaful industry while working with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). She is a Shari’ah-registered financial planner (Shari’ah RFP). She holds the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) credential from INCEIF with distinction and PhD in Islamic Finance from INCEIF. She holds a Master in Commerce (M. Com) with distinction and PGD in Islamic Banking and Insurance from Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance (IIBI), London. Her areas of interest are Political Economy, Management, Shari’ah, Wealth planning and Management, Islamic microfinance, corporate governance and Islamic finance.

Dr. Mehmet Koçdemir

        He was born in 1973 in Bursa. From the School of Finance in 1990, Uludağ University İ.İ.B.F. He graduated from the Department of Economics. In 2012, he was awarded his master's degree in Technology Management at the University of Illinois, College of Business, and in 2019, he completed his PhD in Political Science and Public Administration at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.

        He started working in the Ministry of Finance in 1990. He worked as a computer programmer, assistant revenue specialist and chief accountant in the Ministry. During his supervision, he worked as a temporary expert in the TBMM Accounts Review Commission and in 2006 he did an internal audit internship at the French Ministry of Finance. He was also involved in the preparation of EU projects named "Improving Data Quality in Public Accounts" and "Technical Assistance for Enhanced Capacity for Public Sector Accounting Standards" at the Ministry, in the project team of "Aligment of the Turkish Public Internal Financial Control System with International Standards and EU Practices".

        Currently working at the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, he is the project coordinator of "Technical Assistance for Enhanced Capacity for Public Sector Accounting Standards" and part-time lecturer at Atılım University, and has SMM and independent auditor certificate.
